HIKES AND BIKES AND BIOLOGY SOMETIMES

Stacker Butte

Incredible views with incredible winds. Noisy, windy gravel road walk salvaged by some turkeys.

This is a unique natural grassland of Idaho fescue that contains the world population of the obscure buttercup (Ranunculus triternatus). Please stay on the “trail.”

The wildflowers were good in places, but not like I’ve seen during the “good years.” If you go here, take the detour over to Oak Spring, it’ll get you out of the wind and it’s a nice break from the monotonous crunch of gravel under foot.

This is 2 hikes in a row with extensive road walking. I’m done with that.
