HIKES AND BIKES AND BIOLOGY SOMETIMES

Saddle Mountain

It was this or ride my bike around in circles at PIR.

Foggy, chilly, brushy, tree drip, marine layer, followed by sunny, warm, meadows, dry, clear skies.

I had a feeling we’d hike up out of the marine layer and it was definitely worth the effort. We were socked in almost the whole way up and didn’t get a preview of the summit from across the saddle at all.

I cannot photograph sufficiently well enough to capture the true essence of this place, but I am pretty fond of a lot of these photos.
