HIKES AND BIKES AND BIOLOGY SOMETIMES

Swale Canyon

Looking for Wildflowers

We headed east to the grasslands on a seasonably warm day (unusual this year).

Rails to trails isn’t my favorite thing, but I was tired and this was flat.

There were gobs of yellow-rumped warblers in the canyon on this day as well as a bunch of other birds I won’t bore you with. We got to hang out with a marmot and picked up a tick on our travels.

I’ve only ever seen an few ticks on me in my life and never been bitten, but I can’t stand the things and it makes me wonder if it’s worth hiking in these places.
