HIKES AND BIKES AND BIOLOGY SOMETIMES

Saddle Mountain

Half Way There

I wanted to hike somewhere with views on an unseasonable 80° day because of the aforementioned suck-ass winter we had / are still having. Most views are still snowed in so we headed towards Saddle Mountain.

We got there at a reasonable time and started up the trail only to notice it was getting a little stormy. Pretty soon it was starting to sprinkle and there were lightning strikes a few miles away.

We pressed on until the lightning got too close, the rain got too hard, and the trees got too sparse to hide amongst and decided to call it a day.

This was probably the hardest rain we’ve hiked in and our pants/shoes/socks/legs got completely soaked. It was fun but a little disappointing not reaching the top and not being uncomfortably warm all day.
