What would appear to be a mundane hike in the Tillamook State Forest ends up surprisingly nice.
For me, the Tillamook State forest is usually associated with second-growth forests (mostly due to fires) and a good variety of recreational uses – hiking, mountain biking, firewood cutting, target shooting, ATVs, and off-road motorcycles. We didn’t run into any of this or anyone on this hike and the nice weather (warm for December, damp conditions, threatening rain) made for some really nice scenery and a great time.
