Another popular trail, for good reason.
A picturesque stroll along a river surrounded by magnificent ancient forests with large old-growth Douglas firs. After you cross into the designated wilderness, ironically, the old growth ends (actually, it’s not ironic, it reflects the typical management decisions of the Forest Service). The trail starts running uphill cross-slope to a couple of rocky clearings/meadows which are a good place to turn around on a day hike.
I might mention there’s a falling hazard up at the top. It might just be scary though.
