Easy Access, Easy Strolling
I didn’t read the trail description, but we discovered it’s a Rails-to-Trails site. This usually means flat, straight, and gravel. There’s also a road along the side of the trail for a bit and then it’s just across the river after that. So far it doesn’t sound so good, but there was just enough going on around us that we didn’t mind it at all.
It’s spring break right now and all the trailheads we passed on the way were crowded. There were a few cars at our trailhead but we essentially had the place to ourselves past the first mile.
We hopped off the main trail at about the 1 mile mark and had a nice hike up the left bank (looking downstream) for about half a mile. This was probably the best part of the hike, the whole thing is nice though.
The wildflowers are looking pretty good right now too, I’m guessing they’ll be really nice in about 2 weeks.
You will need to create an account and/or login to see the map with hike track and photo locations.
