High Rock / Monument Peak

The Wrong Shoes

And yet another ridiculous gravel ride

The photos tell most of the story here. The rest of the story is there was a hike-a-bike section that was steep and rocky. And the thing that made me give up was trying to walk on rocks with carbon shoes. I could have used lower gearing too, or just a mountain bike.

So I didn’t make it to the top of Monument Peak, leaving me with unfinished business. I heard it was socked in with fog, so I don’t feel so bad, but if you know me, you know I don’t just give up on challenges.
