It’s been a warm and sunny winter, but we headed east for a change of scenery anyway
Since moving to Oregon, I’ve been fascinated by the Coyote Wall and the rocky areas east of it. I hadn’t investigated the place yet, and was pleasantly pleased to find there were hiking trails all around it.
The eastern portion of our hike went up through a rocky area known as The Labyrinth and as the name implies, there are a lot of places to explore. It’s a great place to have lunch too.
The upper portion is on a road, crosses some private property, and was pretty ugly in places with recent clearcuts and even a bunch of Diesel spilled on the road.
The hike down along the wall is steep, rocky, and a little difficult on tired old knees but quite spectacular.
