HIKES AND BIKES AND BIOLOGY SOMETIMES

Oxbow Regional Park

Surprising mileage in a small park.

Just about every Portlander has been to Oxbow Regional Park at least once and if you haven’t, you should.

While we hiked all over the place, you can see quite a bit in a lot less mileage. Take a run up and around Elk Meadow and then check out the old-growth between the southern end of the campground and the far eastern point of the park. I found that area as impressive as the area marked “Ancient Forest”, and easier to get to. I probably don’t need to tell you to visit the river, you’ll figure that one out on your own.
