One year of hikes in the bag.
We started this hiking thing a year ago and decided to come back to the start for the anniversary. It’s a nice hike and with the Pelican Pub & Brewery so close, I’m pretty sure we’re gonna make this an annual thing.
This year we tacked on the Cape Lookout South trail which took us down to the isolated beach in a 3.6 mile round trip. It added another 860 feet of elevation gain and my prior two days of cycling had me on the ropes by the time we got back up to the Cape Lookout trail.
Out to the cape proper just in time for sunset and back just in time for dinner. It got pretty dark on us, but apparently that’s our thing.
