Lots of lakes.
Somehow I missed the whole Indian Heaven Wilderness thing up until now. What a great place. Interesting vibe, strange topography, and relatively close to home.
We dressed for mid to low 50s and got that with a bit too much of low 40s at the end. This is a relatively flat hike past a whole bunch of lakes, noble firs, talus slopes, and mountain meadows. The cliffs overlooking Blue Lake can be a good spot to see mountain goats, but we didn’t see any. We did see a few pika running around the talus above Eunice Lake. I’d like to go back here on a wetter year or a different season, but I’m not sure when would be a good time.
