HIKES AND BIKES AND BIOLOGY SOMETIMES

Vista Ridge to Wy’east Basin

We made it to 10 years

As usual, we started about an hour later than we wanted. On any other normal day, the Dollar Lake burn makes for a dry, dusty, hot ascent. On this day, it was about 87° at the trailhead. Since this is one of the driest years on record, there were numerous wildfires adding smoke to the mix too.

There’s a lot of nice hiking up at the top of Vista Ridge and we’re definitely going back, maybe after some rain knocks down the dust.
