Classic Hike, Not Too Busy
We tend to avoid the classic hikes because they are usually the most crowded. While we did see people, the fact that most people hike a loop here cuts then numbers down.
This is close to home, flat, and pretty scenic. If it weren’t so busy, we’d consider making it one of our “go to” hikes.
We tried to meet a friend thru-hiking the PCT but missed him by a couple hours. They’re a few weeks behind, so they didn’t need any delays.
One thing to note here. For the amount of use this trail sees, there was very little trash or vandalism. I picked up just a few small granola bar wrapper corners and that was about it. There seemed to be some people intent on camping right at the falls despite signs prohibiting it and the fact that there are already plenty of signs of human impact.
