HIKES AND BIKES AND BIOLOGY SOMETIMES

Cape Falcon Direct

Muddy toes

Sunny, calm, and 45° – just about perfect.

With Christmas just a few days before, the trail was a little more crowded than we like, but it was really nice seeing so many families out on the trails.  There were more than a few groups with 3 generations in them, usually the oldest male was at the back of the group carrying all the gear.

We took the direct route out to the cape (we didn’t actually go to the cape proper, but we went to the southern point where most people turn around), hung out a bit, turned back, stopped by the beach, watched the sun set, watched a dipper, had a semi-off-trail detour back to the car, and got back to the parents’ house in time for dinner.
