Due to client confidentiality, I can’t tell you where this, nor can I share any results.
I was doing pre-construction bird surveys at a proposed wind farm on a privately owned industrial tree farm, the idea being that if there is a particular area where there is a lot of raptor use, turbines won’t be constructed there.
This is mostly a personal memoir of my work up there as I’m unlikely to work in that area again, and like all of this biology work, it’s really hard while you do it, but looking back, it’s the most fun you’ve ever had.
No need for me to comment on the forest practices here, the photos speak for themselves.
